In this episode of Magical Mornings, we featured Shie Sison. She is the creator behind Csison Designs. She is an interior designer by profession turned surface pattern designer and illustrator. She has worked with clients locally and internationally such us Louis Vuitton, Qatar, Vogue, Arabia are the name of few. She has also been a part as the finalist for competitions in Hallmark, UK and star bucks, Middle East. Her works mainly involve water colouring, painting, lettering and modern calligraphy.
Here’s the interview of Shie Sison with UnitePod.
Q. You have an amazing style of work going on. Can you tell us how these all started?
Shie: These all started around 4 years ago when a colleague at work, also a good friend of mine, introduced Instagram to me. As I was browsing through the feeds of various artists, there was a sudden flashback of all the creative works I have done since I was a kid. I had a long habit to draw and Instagram pushed zeal in my head to create again. So I made my own Instagram account and slowly find my way back to lettering and calligraphy. Then a series passed by as I was exploring different styles, I just find my own. So I can say that it was through inspiration from various artist that allowed me to transform the creative skills I learned back when I was a kid to the style that I have now. It’s just magical to be inspired and then forward that inspiration as well.
Q. I wanted to congratulate you for your new website. Can you tell our listeners what this website majorly deals with?
Shie: My website is basically who I am as an artist and designer. The works that I have done in the past and in the present, the various collaboration and offers that I am currently involved with, a little blug as well as how other and perspective clients can reach me for works.
Q. What’s integral to work as an artist?
Shie: In my experience and from what I learned from my parents, hard work, determination, passion and prayers are the integral components to one’s work. It defines me as an artist and a designer.
Q. If you could step into my shoes for a moment what would you ask yourself that I haven’t yet?
Shie: That’s one tough question. Well I guess, I would ask myself how social media had become a beneficial aspect of your growth as an artist and designer.
Q. We see that you have worked with lot of amazing patterns and designs. Are there any new designs you are working on?
Shie: Yes, I am currently working on summer designs for my fabric pattern design shop, a few more on phone case design and my monthly submission to my art agent I am working with now.
Q. So, finally what message do you have for them and where can they connect with you online?
Shie: I am grateful to the artist and designers who have inspired me in my creative journey. And it is such a blessing to forward this inspiration to the new aspiring and creative designers in different field in art industry.
