Q. You are an amazing RJ! We would love to know how it all began and reach the point where you are today. Please share with our listeners how you kick started this journey of yours.
Kisna: I started my journey in a small town named Kurukshetra, based in Haryana and now I am here in Dubai. I used to work as an intern, then a copywriter, and now I work as a Radio jockey, dubbing artist, songwriter, and singer. I have always been a hustler and my strength is that I am very observant, I never stopped moving forward. I allowed things to take their own time and saw many opportunities unfold.
Q. Tell us something about your childhood and how it molded you into the person you are today?
Kisna: I was not very good at academics, but I was very observant as a child, I was a naughty child but very keen to learn new things, had a little fun with mimicking elders and my peers. I was very interested in learning about mythology, religious chants, and prayers. My childhood adventures helped me a lot to be where I am currently. My father was a very religious person so I was always there is a part of the chanting and prayer ceremonies.
Q. The covers you put up on YouTube are amazing! Have you always been passionate about singing? Tell us more about your singing journey
Kisna: As a child, I remember singing in temples. Music has always been my comfort art. Music has kept me going through life, I have explored many genres of music and singing, I am into classical music. When it comes to music I think, there is not always a journey, but you will reach your destination for sure. I have learned a lot from by co singers a lot.
Q. If you get a chance to collaborate with someone for your covers, who would it be and why?
Kisna: Amit Trivedi and AR Rahman sir, are the pillars of the music industry, If I can ever get a chance to share the mic with these talented beings. There are so many indie artists with the potential to make it big so I would be interested in sharing the stage with them too. Also, I recently collaborated with an Indie Brand too.
Q. What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your career as an RJ?
Kisna: I wanted to learn more about Console, if I had a better idea about how it works I wouldn’t have been so scared to use it. Sometimes I still get a little nervous while handling it.
Q. What advice would you give to someone who wishes to pursue the same career as yours?
Kisna: Know your music, stay consistent, and have your opinion. With perfect music, cords, and with right intentions, you can win over hearts easily. Most importantly, people relate with you, so they are interested in knowing you as a person. If you give them relatable content it will help you.
Q. Is there any incident that you feel was the life changing point in your life?
Kisna: According to me, everyday is a changing point, with every passing day I learn something new, I hustle more; there is a constant push to learn more. Ever since I started following y passion, I am always running towards my goal. I never rest. I am focused and not a minute when I am not hustling.
Q. If you could step into my shoes, what would you have asked yourself that I didn’t?
Kisna: ‘When will you relax?’ I would ask myself and I would say, ‘Time is running and we have to run along with it, or else we will be left behind, that is the truth of working as an Influencer, you have to create content.
