In this episode of Magical Mornings, we featured Sarah Hussain, who is a Food Blogger and a Social Media Influencer. She is best known for her Instagram page, @zingyzest. She has gained massive popularity for her glam, lifestyle, and mouth-watering food pictures.

Here’s the interview of Sarah Hussain with UnitePod.

Q. You have been doing some fascinating work out there. All of our listeners would like to know a bit more about your journey. How did it kick start and reach to a point where you are today?

Sarah: Thank you for the compliment. I started at the age of 19. I was in my college doing graduation from Delhi University studying Political Science honours. I was really bored after a certain point of time. You can only party to a certain extent, so I thought why not start earning. That’s when I realized I should do what I loving doing the most, and that was to eat food and click pictures. So this just started as a 19 years old girl who just wanted to show off that she is eating such lavish food. Then I gradually started eating street food. I love street food. I use to have that because as I was a college student I had a limited budget so I used to do a series that showed food under Rs. 100. Many people got attracted to it. So that’s how it started and the connection that I have with the audience made me reach where I am today.

Q. It is obvious you are able to keep people’s interests through your delicious recipes. Did the pandemic situation help increase your audience? How did you go about that?

Sarah: The Pandemic situation, I would say, helped me. It works both ways. It helped me increase my audience who loved outside food but were a little afraid to go out. So, I was making recipes which they could easily make at home be it shawarma, dosa or momos. These were the things which people would go out to eat and I was making them at home which made people connect. They loved it and really responded well to it. So I think the recipe part was really a great thing in the pandemic situation.

Q. How often do you go out to eat for your videos?

Sarah: I go out to eat a lot. I wouldn’t say that everyone should do that because it’s not good for your health. So whenever I go out, I eat in a certain portion. So in a week I go twice.

Q. What do your friends and family think of your life as an influencer?

Sarah: Earlier, when I was in college, people used to make fun of my work calling it very stupid and why am I clicking pictures of food and all of that. But now they are quite chill about it and most of the people in my family really feel that I am their inspiration. So everyone is quiet happy about it.

Q. You have achieved success at a very young age. What do you think makes your food journeys stand out?

Sarah: As I said I started working at the age of 19. I was on social media at an age of 19 and right now I am 25. People have watched me grow. Like quiet literally watched me grow my business as well as myself. I was a teenager when I began and now a 25-year-old and I am quiet middle class. People relate to that. I think that’s what makes me stand out, the relatability.

Q. You have tried various dishes and recipes. Describe your favorite food and whether it brings up any memories for you.

Sarah: I absolutely love shawarma. I will tell a very quick example. The first place I tried shawarma was in Dubai. The huge shawarma, the chicken chunks were so big and juicy with so many vegetables. But cut to India, the shawarma here is totally different. I am a total shawarma lover. After having it in India, I was like is this supposed to have so many masalas. In India, you put masala in almost everything. Even in pasta. My favorite is shawarma be it Dubai’s Shawarma or India’s, I like them both.

Q. What do you hope to achieve in the near future and why?

Sarah: For starters, I really want to achieve 100k on my YouTube channel. It is 97k and I am hoping to reach 100k soon. That’s my short time goal. But in the near future I really want to

buy myself a house. I am working towards that and I am working very hard to reach there.

Q. Finally what message do you have for our listeners and where can they connect with you?

Sarah: Thank you everyone for listening to me. I hope it was worth the time you invested. You can always connect with me on Instagram in the comment section or the DMs on my Instagram page that goes by the name @zingyzest or on my YouTube. Please subscribe to Zingyzest on YouTube. Thank you.
